Note 1: For all outcomes, be sure to make them SMART –
Specific – describe what it will look like/feel like when it’s met
Measurable – have some way of determining the degree to which it was met
Achievable – be realistic, but stretch
Relevant – ties in with longer term goals and values
Timely and time bound – makes sense to do this year and has deadline

Note 2: When thinking, writing, or talking about these outcomes, avoid the word “try.” Use the positive affirmation – “I will …” to reinforce your personal commitment.
